Mission 767 and Cyrus LFAU

Hi there,

Got a set of Mission 767 with the Cyrus crossover/sub amp unit. They're in cosmetically okay-ish shape, and functionally perfect. There are marks a plenty, but nothing cracked or damaged (the top of one of them clearly had an impact that took a surface layer bit off the veneer, but its relatively small and maybe 2mm deep)

They have the original grills without the cloth and the grills have oxidation on the edges.

Wondering what fair market value is for this setup? Can't seem to find confirmed/completed sales recently, and the ones I can find (around $2500) are for seemingly pristine examples.

I mean, they went for (inflation adjusted) $13,000 in 1991. I figure 10-15% of that is a pretty good price for a working pair?

Nice find! We had a demo set on the floor when I was in the business. Mission was well known for small budget speakers and I guess they wanted a piece of the high end, big speaker action when that area was hot. They never got the attention or reviews that would make anyone consider parting with the kind of money they cost even if someone was impressed with them. We never sold a pair and it was not easy to eventually move the demos.

Given how few are out there and how infrequently they change hands coming up with a realistic market value is very difficult. They are so obscure they will probably only sell at bargain prices. Being very big and having proprietary electronics long out of warranty does not help the cause.

They're insane. About 150lbs a piece. They put out SOUND like I've never heard. Ridiculously clear and detailed.

It turns out the Cyrus box is NOT working, which I need to address with the seller. However, even without the LF input these are astonishing speakers. Easily in the top three most detailed I've ever heard. The tweeter units are better than anything I've ever heard.

They are super power hungry without the box. Had my SX-1080 up to two or three o'clock, which is pretty much unheard of for me. They essentially operate as large bookshelves without the LF inputs attached.
