Hello everyone,
I’m definitely not an expert compared with most people here, so I’d really appreciate some advice.
Over the years I’ve inherited various pieces of hi-fi equipment from people close to me. It might not be the greatest equipment in the world, but I’ve always taken good care of it...
Gentlemen, knowing that certain receivers match better with certain speakers and that notation aside, to whom would you give the nod either through experience with some or all of these speakers in each group OR what you have ascertained over the years by rote memory

So my faithful Mission 700 Leading Edge speakers have a bit of foam rot going on, time to refoam. While I'm in there I thought why not upgrade/refresh the factory crossovers a bit.
The crossover is very simple ; a 670uH ferrite core inductor in series with the woofer, and a second order filter...
This is my first post, I'm fairly new to the hobby and am wanting to rebuild a set of mission 707 speakers. Picked them up for $10, they need foam on both woofers and I'd like to rebuild the crossovers. Figured this would be a good speaker to start with. Where do I start?
Any comments on the OHM model Ls, the Mission 770 Freedom Mk1 and the Tannoy c-8? How do they compare between each other?
I'm a rookie in the audio buisness and i'm still trying to figure stuff out
Can anyone tell me the difference between the Mission 70s and 70 MKII?
I have an opportunity to purchase a pair of the 70s. But I’m noticing some are stamped with MKII on the back, but otherwise they look identical.
Please help!
Thank you!!!!
I bought a pair of beat up mission argonauts and one of the tweeters ended up being blown/shorted. I want to find a replacement that is most cost effective as i have a limited budget and already have enough speakers so if it gets too expensive, i’ll get rid of them one way or another. Any help...
In need of advice...
I’m currently looking at two sets of speakers...and while I’m less concerned about the pricetags (both are a decent enough deal, I believe)...the question is more about what direction to take...in terms of quality, sound, reputation, etc....

I'm a newbie on this forum. I've read a couple of threads discussing the Mission 700 Mk II speakers - but those threads were from quite a while back. And they were rather tech heavy.
I know these were designed as a bookshelf speaker. Mid-1980s - which is when I bought them. I was using them...
Just got these Mission M62i, 100 watt, 8 ohm bookshelf speakers. I got them very cheap due to previous owner saying they are blown.
Well.... The one speaker works fine but when the other one is plugged in, it only has a very faint sound. When I turn up the volume, I hear a little snap and...
I'm at a total loss. I have two identical turntables (Mission 775s) with Shure cartridges. They use slightly different grounding schemes and BOTH have the same issue: when the cart reaches the centre of the record there is a low, but audible hum. These tables sound fantastic and solving this...
Just wanted to say hello, and drop som pics of what I listen to.
Living room:

Surr speakers: Dali Zensor 1
Center speaker: Dali Zensor Vokal
Front Speakers: Paradigm 7SE

I picked up a very nice Mission 775s yesterday for an absolute song and I'm noticing that it's running a little fast. I've searched for a solution but given the relative obscurity of this table it's difficult to find much info. I have read the original manual and it doesn't mention any ability...
I just had an eureka moment. Picked up another bargain - a pair of Mission 763i speakers in good shape.
I disconnected a pair of Paradigm 5se Mk3 and wired up the Missions. It became very apparent that the latter presents the audio in an almost 3 dimensional way. From drum solos to symphony to...
hi all,
I got a set of Mission 767s a few weeks ago and while the LFAU amp (google it) is being repaired I noticed one of the mids has a small tear. Because of the rubberized nature of the mid I am tempted to just seal it with adhesive, as this is a legacy part and will probably cost $100+ to...
Hi there,
Got a set of Mission 767 with the Cyrus crossover/sub amp unit. They're in cosmetically okay-ish shape, and functionally perfect. There are marks a plenty, but nothing cracked or damaged (the top of one of them clearly had an impact that took a surface layer bit off the veneer, but...
Whats up everybody. I came across this cool little speaker at an Austin estate sale. There was only one unfortunately, but it was free so I snagged it anyway.
What do y'all think? It sounds pretty good, not the best clarity but paired with my cheap polk audios which have far sharper high end it...
Hi all! Need some advice on what to keep and what to purge since I've accumulated way too much stuff for the space I've moved into with my girlfriend and I want to do it in the right place so as not to break any rules please. A lot of it isn't great to start with so just fair warning lol. Thank...
Howdy AK,
I'm a bit of a rare poster here, but I need a bit of help with my 2nd system. I have been building a "vintage powerhouse" system of 2nd hand purchases, currently just a pair of Mission Argonauts powered by a Sony GX800ES. Occasionally when I turn off the receiver (1 in 20?), as the...
Today was an interesting day, aside from the fact my new wife is upset with me.
Why, you may ask? Well, let me tell you.
Today, I had planned on picking up a Sony 5520 turntable from my friend. It was part of a deal we struck just before he went on vacation. So I picked it up, and he showed...
Hi,
I've bought a second hand vinyl set up piece by piece from ebay.
A Yamaha TT-300 turntable
Rotel RA8408X3 amplifier
A pair of Mission 760 monitors
I switched on and I have that common problem of the set-up not seeming to have much volume.
I can turn it up full and it gives me a plesent...
January 19, 2016: The Original Systems
Hi everyone, I'm Nightwisher (TheNightwisher on other forums) and these are my systems. Before you judge the way my setups are configured, it must be noted that I am a college student and space is limited. I'll be a college student for another 3+ years as...
Found a pair of these speakers last year at a consignment store just as I was reading and first learning about audio stuff.
Told my dad to buy them, that they were pretty highly regarded. My dad is absolutely in love with them; he is so happy I had him buy them. Every time I visit, we spend...
Hi all,
My current system consists of an Arcam a65, Technics 1200 mkII w/Shure V15 III and a pair of Mission 780 Argonauts. Used primarily for vinyl. My Missions sound great but I know they're old and probably had better days. They were covered in dust and grime when I acquired them. They...
