Speaker Decision....

In need of advice...
I’m currently looking at two sets of speakers...and while I’m less concerned about the pricetags (both are a decent enough deal, I believe)...the question is more about what direction to take...in terms of quality, sound, reputation, etc....

Set 1:
Akai SW-137 III
Made in Japan
($75)

Set 2:
Mission 70
Made in Great Britain
($40)

Pics attached...first two are the Akai; second two are the Missions.

Craigs List London, Ontario looks pretty bare for speakers. Not much to choose from. If me, I'd definitely opt for the Mission's. Nothing against the Akai's, but Mission was in the speaker business, and they should be the better sounding speaker.

If you can, buy both, try them out to determine the best in your system, and then resell the other.

Also, keep an eye out for speakers at Canuck Audio Mart. Maybe not as cheap as Craigs List, but there's a much better selection.

Given a choice between those two, I would have to go with the Mission. I have had a pair of the Mission 70s and I was quite impressed with them while they were here.

So I guess you can consider me a bit biased not having heard the Akais before.
