The 17V zener on my 3200 power supply board is faulty. It is listed as WZ-177 (17V) and its replacement would be 1N5247B. It so happens that I have lots of 18V zeners 0.5w and I was wondering if the extra volt would create havoc in this model.

I've seen cases like the 240 where it seems to be recommended to use a zener with an extra volt, so I thought I could do the same here?

check tolerance of old one and sub . then test sub to see if it should be ok . then of course check supply voltage afterwards .
its too late for me to check the manual to get an idea what it does etc .

Thank you! I will give it a try, and put it under the dbt first. Although for such a low power unit I wonder if it makes a difference - using a 20W bulb.
