This is a thread for the modelers at Audiokarma. Show your work, share tips and appreciate each others work. I just finished a Tamiya 1/48 Frank Japanese WWII fighter that reminds me of the P47. It was the first time using Alclad paints. They are by far the best air brush paints I've used with the big plus of easy clean up. They are lacquers but with low odor. If you do the polished aluminum right you can get a mirror finish. Glad I started on a cheap kit. the next one is a Tamiya 1/48 Bubble Top P47. Much more detailed and a lot more parts. It's one to take your time with.

Came close to picking up a black widow. Building the P47 next and I have a Tamiya 1/48th P38 after that. It's another very detailed kit from new tooling. Watched a few YouTube videos and the parts fit like a glove. Looking forward to that.

The Tamiya 1/48 P-47 is is the best model for part fit that I've built. It's a new model and really well done. Not one bit of putty was used. It's so nice not to have to sand and fool with gaps.

Alclad II paint is a bit of a learning curve. The base coat must be complete shiny to have the best results and the best results can be stunning if done right. I learned a lot on this model. I found you can't seal with a clear that is solvent based. No enamel or lacquer as it reacts with the Alclad and becomes blotchy. Water based worked well.

Yes no clear coat at all.not too fragile if you don't handle the model often .

Here's the latest. P-47 bubble top. Getting a handle on the Alclad II paint. This kit went to together beautifully actually the nicest fitting kit I've ever done. I used Vallejo water based clear which worked perfect on the Alclad lacquer.

I built this one with red transparent covering to see how it would look in the air. When I fly it on sunny days it leaves really cool looking red shadows on the ground

Been working on this in my spare time. Lots of small screws and nuts . Following the instructions has been a real challenge with lots of mistakes. Probably just due to the translation from Chinese,
