Moderators and Administrators, Would it be Possible to Add This Feature to AK?

Your welcome. We want everyone's time spent here to be enjoyable and we have no problem whatsoever removing people who purposefully break the rules in an attempt to spoil anyone's enjoyment of the site. Our "All Audio / no Attitude" ethos is our guiding principle and it WILL be enforced, for the enjoyment of all to be the foremost experience :thumbsup:
 
How many times would it take for an offender to be banned or at least given a month long timeout? We have seen dozens of threads locked due to the same offending thread crappers over and over. In the past I have taken a year away from posting due to the repeated trolling that was taking place.

Its not that hard to see who is doing the offending or ruining the OPs threads, just look at locked threads and the offenders who got them locked.

Thanks to the mods for doing the best they can dealing with the known offenders by the way, its a tougher job than I would want to handle.

I appreciate that more than you can know. One need look no further than the General page of a site I used to frequent to see how just a couple of offenders can really drag it down.

My thanks to them as well. I couldn’t do it nearly as effectively as they do.

I wouldn't want to be a moderator either; I wouldn't have the time even if I did. The mods, as a group are, however, doing the very best they can. I am very thankful for their hard work and dedication. AK is a wonderful forum, and I wish it to stay that way for many years to come. :)

If I was the AK boss, non-subscribers would have view only access to AK forums. That would only partially solve the topic of this thread, but would also stop lots of troll post by folks not willing to pay the annual subscription cost.

Frankly, one known provocateur @Retro_Pete was recently banned from AK for starting fights ...
We got no problem tossing others once we see their history.
AK dumped a pack of thread tossers before I joined, but we are willing to throw new trolls just as easily!
What is that phrase open source developers and coders say? - "Many eyes catch the bugs"

I have often thought that a lot of silly arguments could be prevented simply by creating a forum called The Great Cable Debate or something similar and putting in the subscribers section. If people are going to engage in and sustain such circular arguments, they can at least help to sustain this website and the bandwidth such pointless arguments consume.

Ohhh no no... what I meant was, while all the threads belong to AK, it is your writing (and opinion) you put in it. If one is fortunate, others will respond with knowledge the original poster did not have. Thus, it is a learning-circle. There is no community quite like AK.
