More Canton

Nicely done :thmbsp: I think Cantons are Very nice. You have done well to have two pairs in matching finish :)

I had a set of the ct-2000's as well for a while but mine were the shorter version with the mid and tweeter mounted next to each other. They also were more of an oakish color. Great speakers i probably should have kept.

Interesting, I've not seen those. I wonder if the side-by-side midrange and tweeter arrangement was an older or newer design than these ones here?

I'll add my redundant praise to the mix, if I could have afforded a pair of those in 92 I would have them to this day I think!

I have the Canton Karat S 8 DC in silver finish, but can't seem to find any info on them? in fact they are stored at the moment, have not found time to listen to them.

I also bought a set of ct 2000 and surprisingly happy with them. They go really low and are great for music but also movies. The huge bass woofer is the star but the mid woofer is great as well. Its one off the speakers i really want to keep, had a lot of speakers but they have something about them which keeps me using them. Presence is what they really have in spades!

this version your talking about is a CT1000 the first 2 years 1979 and 1980 they were built that way in 1981 they then had them all inline

when the wall came down Canton went down hill as in to big and there speakers went down in quality, they could sell shares and they did but the mainstream stuff went to the bottom for sound , you could still spend 20k and up at this time to get the good stuff . to bad the did this to these speakers at this time , i still have my ct2000 and ct1000s from late 1980 in high gloss Mahogany. it's amazing how many people haven't heard them or the name canton. i also have there car speakers too also from the 80ties lol hence the name

For a small sub/sat system the Canton Plus S and Plus C make a great little package. Gifted my son the set along with a vintage Lafayette integrated and tuner.

I dearly love my pair.
