Moscode 600 Info Help Needed

Never nough

New Member
Happy New Year To Everyone.!!!

Tube or transister?? Am I in the right place ??? Half tube , Half transister. I picked up a very cool Moscode 600 ,
The previous owner said he had touched the + - - speaker wire together. Amp makes a loud humm when fired up. Are these amps worth fixing? Parts available? It seems rather cool, way heavy. Along with the deal is the Moscode Pre-amp. Does anyone know of a good repair guy around the Chicago area??? Thanks in advance

It appears to have enough high value hits to justify it.

A tube pre-amp with Class D finals, enough to push 300 Watts, people would have interest in it on the secondary market.

Since the outputs were shorted, the first casualty is going to be the MOSFETs. The PWM unit should be fine, and it is probable the MOSFET drivers are okay- but they should be tested anyway, as well as the electrolytics as they do not like that kind of experience.

Parts- it is not likely they had many proprietary parts, so it is most probable that it can be repaired with identical components. I am about 10 hours away from Chicago, so no one comes to mind.

Wow. Just googled a bit, sounds like that amp has some great potential and some known mods for it. Assuming you didn't pay hugely it sounds like a good grab. FWIW, this thread might be better off in the DIY forum.
