most creative album covers

I’m a big Roger Dean fan. He’s done so much artwork not just for Yes, but for many other bands as well. I read he is currently sueing Cameron for some of the work done in the Avatar film. Not sure if he’ll win that though.

I came across this from a German record company. As a child of the Cold War, I was a bit shocked at first....but then, I ordered it!

I'll review it after I've heard it a couple of times, and re-watch "The Lives of Others."

Wow... that design sure does have a kind of "Eastern Block" kind of vibe to it. Interesting to me how different systems of government kind of bring with them their own aesthetic. I saw that "Lives of Others" film too years ago when it came out, but can't remember much about it, except for the fact that I did like it. I must see it again and relive the horror off what it must have been like to live in such a secretive, paranoid, regimented society. There was another film, though I forget the name about East Germany that was a more lighthearted affair, where an older woman in that country was a shut in and never realized that the wall had come down. Since she was a died in the wool communist, her family tried to pretend that the wall had never come down and that it was business as usual over there.... Good stuff!

Some people don't like this cover. But, I think it's brilliant. And it seems to reflect the music perfectly.
Pretty Things - Parachute (1970). Fabulous album. In my top 5.

Anyone watching the PBS series about music photographers? It’s pretty good. All back stories abt how covers were shot, told by the photographers.

I've seen 3 episodes. Fun and interesting stuff. I do wish they'd talk more about the efforts of graphic artists but, well, I'm not an executive producer.
Image pursuit. What a concept.

I have a little over 300 albums at 62, when I was about 16 my sister's first husband and great guy was a DJ at one of our radio stations and they would get so many albums some of the music they just wouldn't play in there format, so one day I got to go visit his DJ room and the hole wall from floor to ceiling was albums, maybe a thousand or more. He ask me if there's any of them I liked, I said YEAH the guy just started pulling albums off the wall and handing them to me of my choice, man what a great day that was still have some of them. One of those is Genesis lamb lies down on Broadway and they all have stickers on them that say Promotional DJ copy not for sale.
