I reckoned that quite a few people must have brought up Hipgnosis in this thread but was wondering if anyone had mentioned the Netflix documentary "Squaring the Circle". (I almost feel as if I cheated as I ran a search on the thread rather than reading all the way through every post to find yours.) The stories shared in that show were just incredible.

As someone who worked as a graphic designer after the advent of personal computers and after the likes of Aldus/Adobe came along, I definitely appreciated the lengths that Hipgnosis went to as detailed in Squaring the Circle. I own a great book featuring their artwork as well.

No doubt, I'm a graphic designer too and one that has been only in the age of digital media, though I haven't done much stuff inspired by the kind of stuff that Hipngosis did. I don't own the Hipngosis book, but I do have a number of books about album cover art and probably most of their work is in those books. As far as cover album graphics go, I've been even more inspired by the Reid Miles stuff that he did for the Blue Note label, though admittedly, this stuff is very different from Hipngosis, so it isn't like I would even bother comparing the two.

Besides graphic design, I'm really into photography and one current photographer who I really dig, David Ingraham is someone who's work seems to have a kind of similar aesthetic to Hipngosis, but he uses digital tools. https://davidingraham.com/
