Most Often Found Records

Most are artists I'd never personally buy.

My short list includes:

Linda Ronstadt
Glenn Campbell
Jimmy Swaggart

Now I will admit to owning most Linda Ronstadt albums, and even a couple of Glenn Campbell.
Ever notice the same thing?
JD

i see, i have (and find) lots of Linda Ronstadt. Glenn Campbell must have been a great writer... i own only one of his origin issues, but i seen his name lot of times...

Here in Germany u will get overwhelmen in every Box of records u find with.....

Chris deBurgh :boring:
Saga
Phil Collins
Bob Seger

My shop always has 3 or 4 copies of Pink Floyd's "The Wall." All other Floyd is snapped up in a matter of days. Not "The Wall."

Thrifts here:

Bing Crosby Christmas albums

Boston Pops, Arthur Fiedler

early Johnny Mathis

early Simon and Garfunkel in terrible shape

60's surfing albums in terrible condition

Lots of Streisand

I was amazed recently at the sheer number of Firestone Christmas albums I saw while going through the bins the other day, and at garage sales.

I am playing something from that time period at this moment, Hooteroll?. Now that you will not see very often at the thrift. But a few weeks back I found it. Nice shape to. One A.M. Approach.

I think that was Herb's wife on the cover or was it his girlfriend? Anyway, he had great taste in women! :bigok:

ABBA Arrival
I wouldn't mind taking a stroll through those two stores. I'd like to own both of those as well. I've seen both of those at the store in my area, but neither of them were in a condition worth buying. Plus, I didn't even have my own turntable at the time so there was no real incentive to buy either of them.

Lotsa cheezball gospel records around here--whole families on the cover in matching plaid pants. Every church in the area must've had a "pro" gospel singer/family because it boggles my mind how many there are. Doug Oldham seems to have been a big one--kinda looked like Elvis' uncle with the lapels and lambchop sideburns. I'd say at least a third of the used records I see are of this ilk, which could keep me outta church for the rest of my life.
Then there's good ol' Lawrence Welk and Andy Williams. The Goodwill over here had two crates with nothing but those two yoyos in them.

Hot August Night
Readers Digest Classical boxed sets
ABBA Arrival

Some of those Reader's Digest classical sets are actually rare and valuable provided they're stereo and the right early pressing. And in perfect condition, of course, but many copies were hardly played at all.

A thrift store is never complete without

38 Special
Journey
Boston

No matter what store I go into I always see a number of albums from these three bands.
