Most over-rated and under-rated bands

U2 is WAY over-rated in my book, I'm glad they they are staying pretty much out of sight these days.

Peter Frampton. Underrated. Well, song wise, he's over-rated, but guitar-slinging ability wise, he is way under-rated. The man has some chops!
 
Underrated: Buddy Holly, Traffic, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ramones, ELO, really too many to mention.

Overrated: Britney Spears, Dave Matthews Band, All rap artists.

I would say The Chameleons are severely underrated, but that's because no one's really heard of them. I'm listening the the album pictured in your avatar as I type this, BTW.:music:

Frampton: Overrated as a solo artist.

Frampton : Under rated when with Humble pie.
 
Overrated: Jimmy Buffet

I cannot express in words how strongly I dislike everything this man has ever done. It makes me physically ill.
 
Overrated: Pet Shop Boys...the critics says: genius!, I say Booooring...
Underrated: Blind Melon....labeled as the one hit wonder band who made the video with a little girl in a beesuit but they made two great albums.

I'll second that! I've got a running joke with the neighborhood poker group that the next time I hear Cheeseburger In Paradise at the poker game the table is getting flipped over. Mix alcohol and Buffet and something bad is gonna happen.

Underated: Warren Zevon

Kind of in the same schlocky genre as Buffet (and same time period) but he always brings a smile to my face.

I got tricked to see a show in the 90's (mind you i am from Sweden and had never heard of the man) with the argument: if you liked the Grateful Dead shows, you will love this, they call us Parrotheads!! That was the most tacky event i have ever attended, even cowshitbingo (sweden's national sport) is more exciting and spiritually uplifting...i liked the Deadshows better needless to say...

That probably explains why I paid $9 for a used CD of "Best of the Beast" and I paid $4 for a 2 disc set from Saxon called "Coming to the Rescue." Both were from the same FYE store. I have to admit, between those two albums, Best of the Beast is better, but for NWOBHM fans, you can't not like Saxon.

Wow, Someone else Rocks to Saxon. Vocals so, so, But man, Those guitars do give Downing/Tipton a run for there money. And THAT ain't easy!:no:
