mouser.com did well by me

Digikeys site is so slow I don't order as much as I would from them. I do want to support them with some larger orders because of their free shipping that helps us hobbyists out when we just need a couple more parts. I do check prices on some larger items. Had some 1500/450V caps once that were $25 less each at Digikey. It drove the whole order to Digikey and glad I did. I've bitched about mouser shipping and it has changed partly because of that, but digikeys orders still arrive as quickly even when placing a snail mail order.

I placed an order a week or so back and got a email last friday that my package was delivered and it wasn't. They resent my order next day air at no cost. I will also go to them first now.

The outcome off my "on order, due August" situation was completely satisfactory - actually, better than expected. The parts went back to "in stock" status on the Mouser site earlier than projected, and within a day or two after that mine were on their way to me.

Mouser is good at filling back orders. I learned early on to not have a back order because they charge a separate shipping charge for the additional shipment. But if you have to have...immediately upon restock it is the way to go.

I like their new cheap 2 day service and on one order they didn't ship it the day I ordered it so they upgraded it to next day air to keep in schedule at no extra charge.

That is kinda expected good customer service. They do have good customer service.

It is what we should expect but I'll admit I've gotten used to much poorer service.

Considering I've gotten replies to emails lately that say "sorry, we are no longer reading the emails, please call or use our online help" and I ended up being number 400 in line for the online help. Or the other place I had a back order from that I emailed asking them "I see the item I have on back order is showing as back in stock; do you have an estimate on when my order will ship?" and a couple days later got "Good news, it looks like the item is back in stock and we will be shipping it shortly" as a reply.

Mouser is great: used to take about a week and cost round $7 for shipping on a small order. These days it's $8 and arrives in two days by UPS -with tracking. (I'm giving up on USPS, even Amazon Prime is now forecasting 7 - 10 days for delivery for in-stock items.)

I always order from Mouser, from France. If I order before Wednesday, I'm delivered before Saturday. Always. Perfect packing, free for orders over 50€. Quality items, at a fair price, delivered in 2-3 days from the US to Europe. Great. And they are very helpful in anyway (changing or cancelling a product in an order, helping with references etc.). Absolutely reliable.
