I guess everyone has a few movies where the ending caught you off guard. I guess my main one is "Easy Rider". I saw it in the theater and my future wife and I just sat there at the end with our mouths hanging open. Some others for me were "Electra Glide in Blue", "Joe", "The Departed", "Arlington Road" and the original "Planet of the Apes".

Easy rider was no surprise. Hippie bike riders and red necks? That was not going to end well.

Oh and the vampire movie with George Cloonie, Selma Hayak, Harvey Keitel and Cheech was almost everbody else.
 
The original foreign film "Funny Games", I just kept thinking there was going to be some amount of justice at the end.
 
"Body Heat" (1981) Starring William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, and a young Mickey Rourke.

"Midnight Meat Train" (2008) Starring Bradley Cooper, Vinnie Jones, Brooke Shields. This one initially appears like every other run-of-the-mill melodrama, but the ending really spins your head around....
 
The 6th Sense. After the movie was over my wife and I tried over and over to find a mistake in the movie to make the ending wrong. We couldn't.
