Movie Endings That Caught You By Surprise.

Not the original, the remake.

Being somewhere between the ages of 3 and 7, my reasoning ran along these lines; if Mannix was in a movie, he must be the main character, and if he was the main character, he had to both triumph and survive.

That night of watching tv at my grandparent's house in the early '70s changed my whole outlook.
 
"Napoleon Dynamite"

The ending was as goofy as the rest of the film....they play a good outro song as credits roll, the screen fades to black, silence....then, about 30 seconds later, a new scene appears, an outdoor wedding, with another 3 minutes or so of rather bizarre footage....
