I'm looking to change the high voltage power supply of my mpi-4 as the scope is no longer outputting a display and believe the C301 capacitor has gone faulty which is a .1uf 1000v Sprague black beauty cap it makes a noticable buzzing sound when the unit is turned on. My question is which capacitor should this be replaced with considering the schematic shows a -1250v supply coming from it do I need any special capacitors for negative voltagesor for an AC current?
I have recapped the main board and the power supply and still no display on the scope before the display gave out it showed a distorted trace with no signal applied as the picture shows the heater on the CRT neck glows but as I'm aware it is separate from the high voltage supply that may be malfunctioning. I had the system playing left the room and when I came back the scope was blank with no trace at all.
Any tips or help regarding the situation would be appreciated
