MR71 Transformer (043-344) Extra Coil?

The problem with this diagram is that you need to know the phase, not only the voltage of the wires (v1/V2). If you know what color each is, then you’re all set.
I believe that using a DBT as a current limiter, and hooking it up as in post 17 you will find that all outputs are correct and the current draw is not abnormal, problem solved.

Thanks all. So I should connect the black and black/red together (call it A), and the black/green and black/white together (call it B), and run power through my DBT across A and B, and measure green / green for 6.3V?
As explained several times and as shown in the written diagram a few posts above, you should feed 6.3V into the 6.3V and measure what you get out of the assortment of black wires.
If you do not have 6.3V available, then yes, try connecting as per the diagram subbmitted by clinic_audio on the previous page. If you get 0V out of the 6.3V winding you have the primaries out of phase. Do this initial test quickly as putting the windings out of phase is not ideal and could overheat them. Best would be to do this with a dim bulb tester.

Thanks for confirming - doing my best to check twice, measure once! I've only ever killed one transformer before, trying to keep it that way.
