I'm looking for some help id'ing this tube. It was sold as a Blackburn Mullard, but I can almost make out "Made in Holland". Code at bottom is
Gf(i think)?
DeltaOB

Sounds great.

Thanks for any help!

That is, indeed, a made in Holland tube.
The second line of date coding starts with a Delta Triangle; that is the key.
The halo is a nice, large one. I think the O after the triangle indicates 1960 manufacture.

@ceylon should be able to decipher the date code for you.

That tube with Delta symbol was made at the "Heerlen" factory in Holland.
"Gf" is the designation code for ECC82 / 12AU7.
The 3 digits on bottom: Delta symbol-"0-B" = Build date I believe is in February, either in 1970, or 1960.

So its a Philips tube, not a Mullard. To be an actual Mullard tube, it would have to be made at either the Blackburn, or Mitcham factory in UK.
Philips owned both names, and factories, among many others and would slap brand names on the tube that is under their umbrella brands despite where it was made, and which factory.

Very helpful. Thanks !

Have a ton of Globe Amperex 6DJ8's with the Delta symbol that everyone Raves about...

Very high build quality. Had good results with tubes made in Holland.

[of coruse this isnt for you but whoever hasnt digested this information yet] well, everyone rebranded everyone else, whether or not philips was the manufacturer or the manufacturer was philips-owned: for example, RCA rebranded siemens and mullard, amperex frequently rebranded RTC, mullard, philips and reflektor USSR; raytheon, westinghouse rebranded soviet tubes; siemens rebranded EI, mullard rebranded BEL and matsushita, and IEC, a third party import-wholesaler/distributor, actually owned the rights to the name "mullard" in the US and wrote it and "britain"on everything.

cool graphics, for sure. good tubes.

So much knowledge in these parts. Thanks all!

The tube sounds great in my rogue cronus dark, but not with maillard ECC83. Too moody. Dark. Bordering on muddy. Loving it with gold lion ECC83. It was a $40 tube, so hardly high dollar. It was supposedly mullard from Blackburn. This is written on the plastic box it shipped in. Guessing how it tested. Clearly, I'm new to this. . .

Did you just put the old tube in your new tube's box? That's a bad habit to start, that's best to avoid : )

I see that happen way too often. It's like putting a used AA battery back in the new battery packaging after swapping it out for a new one; 12 months (or yrs ) later you forget what you did, and then ....... : )
I can't tell you how many times, that I get really excited when seeing matching old stock boxes of holy grail tubes, and then find a used, tired pair of Electro Harmonix tubes inside them.

At least that's a clear box to see the tube, but the test number are not for that tube, and we'll all forget that years later : )

Yeah, that makes sense. I need to track down some boxes. My amp came with spares. Without boxes. I need more for this reason!
