That was part of the reason why I had it such a long time before using it. Deciding it was time to send it off for repair, I tried it and it worked again! A prolonged period of being off must have allowed some charge on the input board to dissipate. I'm a bit paranoid about that now, but since things are set up I hope there will be no need for swapping connections now.

I believe you and I talked already on WBF, but yes I definitely am aware of that and I treat all my gear the same way, I never hot swap cables but I appreciate your heads up and I’m glad yours is good after you thought it had a problem.

I would say the M5si is very neutral. Some might call it lean, but I think those are people looking for a little bass emphasis. It reminds me of a Harman Kardon 690i I once had, only more powerful. I’m using JBL Studio 580s with it. Of course the Ohm Walsh and Kefs are a little harder to drive, but I don’t believe the M5si would have any trouble driving them. I have been very pleased with this amp..
