If that's Stereophile Jan 1998, I need to dig that one out and take a closer look at the Ad and review. I have nearly all of the X-Ponent line compinents in one form or another instead of the X-LP phono stage, I have the 3 piece version X-LP2 mono units w/ X-PSU etc. quite a few duplicates of several of x-ponent units that I should start moving along as well.

Yeah us MF owners are a rare breed around here which is fine by me, that leaves more for us lol others don’t know how exceptional MF gear is.

Great amp ! I was sooo close to buying the A308 ! But I went with the A3.2 int with the 3.2CD player instead. The 308 was about the same price as both 3.2 units. If I could go back and do it over I would’ve bought the 308 and skipped the cd player, though the A3.2 combo never let me down and is still making music.

I found this amp on the local market a while back. About a month earlier I purchased a new amp/preamp combo which I was happy with. However, a unit like this doesn't come up too often so I raced to get this amp after work. I have never regretted this purchase as it is my daily driver and it delivers like nothing I've had (which honestly is a short list ). I go back to my other combo out of guilt once in a while, but always come back to the A308!

Happy new owner of a 'mint' Musical Fidelity X-150. Bought from an owner who had it new for more than 10 years and he had Len Wallis do a full serivce for it in 2018 - new custom transformer and parts upgrade. The remote has not been used as he was using the remote from the cd player. I'm using it to drive my Axis VoiceBox S speakers and Susvara headphone. This shoebox has a lot of power !

So I have been playing with my new toy last night. Using the X150 to drive my Axis VoiceBox S - 83db and 5ohms and Susvara - 83dB and 60ohms. Both very inefficient but the amp drives them with gusto - volume dial is just hovering at 1/4 - 9am. Power is not an issue here. Tonally it is warm, lush, astounding clarity, transparency, gutsy bass and a very wide soundstage. I'm loving the Musical Fidelity X150.

That is great to hear!, Musical Fidelity are definitely powerhouses yet they have excellent balance while slightly leaning towards the warm side of neutral and imo is exceptional gear. If you ever get the chance to listen to one of their NuVista/TriVista hybrid amps you may be pleasantly surprised at what they can do. Are those Audeze headphones? Very nice looking , I used to be a can head but decided to go full 2ch instead.

Those are HiFiMan flagship Susvara at 6 grand. Could get a nice pair of speakers with that. I agree that Musical Fidelity are powerhouses. I took the amp to the lounge to drive my floorstanders Axis LS88 and it did so easily. At this rate, I could give up head-fi for stereo instead. I am now musing about their higher powered stereo amps like the m5si.
Years ago I was at Len Wallis Audio listening to the Nu-Vista M3 driving the B&W 805. I thought to myself what a handsome looking setup and gorgeous sounding too.
Here's a picture of the Musical Fidelity X150 driving the floorstanders with authority. Those are Axis LS88 by John Reilly of Australia. Next to it are the bookshelf LS28 on stands. I was using a vintage Kenwood KA3300D or Redgum Rgi120enr.
Great reviews on that, The MX Vinyl does a nice job any cart I throw at it

I'm using Rega RP8 with Avid Pellar but that MX Vinyl is a good looker !

That’s what I’ve read about the MX as well and the NuVista phono , but I’m wondering if it’s that much better than my Graham Slee phono stages. The pairing of the Acession and Elevator together make for one hell of a phono stage.

Don’t know, Those get rave reviews as well, The MF Just seemed more user friendly, You can adjust on the fly which is a cool feature
