Musical Fidelity Owners Thread

recently purchased a mint condition used Musical Fidelity m6si integrated amp. It was purchased thru Amazon. Two weeks ago it stopped putting out any output. Changed sources cables everything. Other amp hooked up to same works great.

Here is the problem. There is no phone number or website to get authorization to send to Musical Fidelity to repair. I’ve called three different dealers all refused to deal with it due to not purchasing it from them. I’ve left numerous messages with the distributor Naim North America and no has returned my calls. I guess I’ll send it to someone local to look at. I will sell this unit when repaired and never will purchase Musical Fidelity again. I’m beyond frustrated.
Well I’m sorry your going through this and I believe yours to be an isolated incident and not common from Musical Fidelity products at all. Have you tried the usually trouble shooting? I.E. check your speaker cable connections, source connections, is the source set correctly on the MF? Etc etc .

I have no idea what would cause this. It’s been about three weeks of not listening to it then when I want to nothing. No sound. It goes from standby to on and it selects input. But no sound. From any source

Yeah that’s very odd indeed. So you have done nothing as far as changing anything out? Or moving it around ?. I’m not sure if yours has it but can you reset it possibly?

Audiofreak71

Nothing to reset. I wish. Haven’t been moved or even touched
Have you tried a different power cable? Or change out al the cables ? If that doesn’t work then I’d have a tech take a look , if it’s still under warranty then write Musical Fidelity customer support and go from there.

In 2018 Musical Fidelity was sold to Audio Tuning, the company that owns Pro-Ject. The original factory in Wembley UK was shut down so I don't know where servicing and repairs are carried out now. I believe they're on Facebook but I can't verify that unfortunately.

Not exactly sold, more rescued to be honest ! I'm glad HL stepped in when he did. Otherwise it would have been no more !!

Official service center is us at Henley Audio, we carry out all warranty work, and can also quote for out of warranty repairs. We don't offer AM's upgrade service. But can obviously refresh old and tired models that are suffering from age related conditions.

Details can be found below, and we're quite happy to dish out advice, we have captured and tamed an ex MF engineer who whilst mainly works on designing the new stuff, is also very knowledgeable on the older stuff.

Anyone know if there are much differences between the A5 cd and the M6cd units? I have the M6 (not scd version) and may get a A5 with tube. Thanks in advance

Anyone tried the M6S Pre? I'm searching for a pre-amp or integrated with 2 pairs of balanced inputs and one pair balanced outputs and balanced internals and this MF looks like the most cost-effective option.

Not impressed from the photos of the man-machine interface but good enough and it has a remote. Supposedly has lots of surface mounted chips inside too. Wish it at least had a balance control.

I'd use it to drive a current ADCOM GFA-555 MkII and later might get a pair of Shiit Aegirs for a pair of Harbeth SHL5+ speakers.

I have not heard the M6 but I have heard the M8Xi and it was pretty nice , I wasn’t blown away like with my NuVista M3 but it may be because I’m used to the hybrid amps and love that sound. It definitely had good grip on the speakers it was driving , I believe they were focal Kanta’s.

I recently picked up a massive MF kW hybrid line preamplifier on the local secondary market. I'm really enjoying the sound in my main two channel rig in my living room.

And yes, the feet glow blue when it is turned on and fully warmed up.

I need to start posting more pics to this thread.

I'm still hunting down a pair of 750K's and a few other pieces of Musical Fidelity Gear.
In the amp stable to date X-A50 Monos, X-A200 monos, 550K Superchargers, X-AS100 stereo amp.
Here's my bad image of my 550K monos.
