Must be my lucky day!

The Dahlquist will need a refoam. Easy to do. They sound great. They also need a fair amount of power. I ran them with an Adcom 555 which put out 200 watts. They were my favorite speakers for a couple of years.:thmbsp:

Great, good to know this. Looking forward to listening to them.

The JBL L45 was the Flair model, and could have a bunch of different loads in it or could be configured as a "Super" L100 although it sounds like yours is a two-way. The box is big enough to function as a subwoofer for a good JBL 15 inch woofer like the 2235H. Grille sounds different than what is usually on them, a 3D grille which attaches with velcro.

Look over the different combinations and you'll get a approximate idea of what you might have.

I noticed a round horn that the lense attached to with velcro, a round port, and a woofer. There were no grills to be found though.

I am really excited about the bigger JBL's, not sure if the cabinets were modified or what but they look real vintage as far as the badges and grill material.

:lurk:This one has some Alfred Hitchcock-like suspense to it--and I think it will have a good ending! :lurk:

I am not sure what the big JBL's are yet, they look like C-37's the grills slide in from the bottom and are flat.

The L45's flat out kick booty, they do not take much volume level to get loud and they have a very punchy bass with very little boominess. One had the original owners manual and sales ad still in the envelope on back, the other had an original quality control slip in the cabinet. Cool stuff! :thmbsp:

Amazing gear congrats! Look's like a C37. The C40 is bigger with the curved grill.

Thanks everyone, I feel like a kid in a candy store today. :beerchug:

I believe the big jbl's are C37's, all original and never been apart or had the grills off before today. One woofer has no sound and the bullet tweeter in the other sounds not so good but I will take them out and probably do a restore on them.

The L45's sound great, did a wipe down with Howards restore and it made a big change to how they look. No grills so I will probably make some, chances of finding L45 flare grills is next to none.

The Dahlquist DQ-12's sound very nice but woofers will be refoamed and grills recovered.

My brother is going to test all the amps and other electronics in the next few days.

Sure don't have much room left with these monsters here, oh well, should be fun restorations. :thmbsp:
