MX150 pre/processor info

I have some question on the new, upcoming MX150 pre/processor. I'm sorry if they have been already answered elsewhere but i didn't find anytihng on a simple search.

1- I see on the back an xlr MIC input. Does this mean that the MX150 will have room eq/correction?

2- Will the MX150 accept the TM1 tuner card? I have one from my MX135 i will be happy to use on this one, too.

3 - Will the analog section be the same/worst/better than the MX135? I'm especially interested in the pure 2 channel analog output.

Thanks for any info,

Luigi

According to my sources the unit will have a room eq system built in.

As for the tuner card fitting the MX150, the chassis is smaller than the MX135-136 so I don't know if it will allow the same card. They may want you to stack a MR 88 on top.

There is a 2 channel balanced input and I don't see why McIntosh would ever put out a unit that would have worse sound. Delivery for the MX150 is suppose to be April-May at $11,500 but the price and delivery date is still a little tenative. They may make some modification of the final production model which could effect both. You can do that when you build everything in house. I can remember a couple of production units that had more features that the announced prototype. These guys love to tinker.

Im still wondering about DAC's. I read somewhere this thing would have Fully Balanced Differential outputs, but have not heard anything since. That would be HUGE me thinks.

The MX150 will have very good 2 channel SQ. It also has full room correction on all channels. We have phono as well as pure 2 channel mode but no room for the TM-2 in the chassis.

Thanks,
Ron-C

I hate to ask obvious or stupid questions, but here goes...what is 2 channel SQ? :scratch2:

AND -- I did not see any ethernet port on the backside -- did I miss it? Is there an ethernet port for connection to the Internet for firmware upgrades and possibly streaming of entertainment from other sources within the home or online?

I believe it's in the top right corner, above the compact flash slot and to the left of the USB port?

I do recall seeing a USB and an ethernet port on the proto MX150.

Man, I totally missed the compact flash slot. I wonder what it is used for?

I hope the DACs are really good!

Do we know if it is a balance design?

This should help clear up any confusion. The last sentence in the first paragraph states:
...and software management via USB, Ethernet and Compact Flash.

Does any one (Ron C) know if this processor will overlay the On Screen Display menus?

My next processor will be behind a cabinet and it would be beneficial to see the options, volume, etc on the HDTV output.
