MX150 pre/processor info

So, Ivan, I take it the fine folks in Binghamton already have your pre-order for an MX150 and MR88? :beerchug:

Glen

So has McIntosh given up on trying to incorporate Trinnov processing into its home theater components? This was one of the major features of the AP1000, which looks like it will never see the light of day.

Thats because mcintosh should stick to what they do ok with, AMPS, they trail in every way to almost every other company in HT equipment. They are not geared to keep up in the new HT new format wars,

MX150 will do overlays on the video. It will also have the best sound and wealth of unique features of any MX so far. Both sides, 2-channel and multi-channel are well served.

Thanks,
Ron-C

Is the MX150 really a true balanced design like the C200, C500, and C1000?

Will its DACs be close to the MCD500 performance?

How does it compare with two channel to the C2300? Are you still better off having a C2300 or C500 for two channel using home theater pass thru?

Can you turn the room correction off?

Chad,

Yes you can bypass room correction. I doubt that will be something you would want to do after hearing it. Resolution of the digital section is comparable to MCD500 which is about 22 bits. They are both beyond your source software.
I bit equals 6 dB. 6 X 22 = 132 dB.

Thanks,
Ron-C

I'll bet somebody pipes up with "no, no...I can hear the difference!!!"

ltleo,

You really look for every opportunity to bash Mcintosh. I am sorry that you are such a grumpy guy with an axe to grind. Please give it a rest.:thumbsdn:
