My DIY equipment rack DONE :) pics inside

the threaded rods are zinc plated, so i assume they will not rust.

as for the finish, sanding stages ended at 320 grit, with "varathane" waterborne non yellowing semi gloss finish.

Well then, it should stay beautiful for years! Again, really nice work!

Great work. Looks super and clean. :thmbsp:

I've looked many times at similar racks and someday would love to own one.

If you had only described it perhaps I wouldn't have liked it but now that I see the pictures it definitely has its appeal.

Congrats!!!

I've looked many times at similar racks and someday would love to own one.

I went to a local audio retailer with my dad in search of a YBA amplifier, and stumbled across an audio shelf I fell in love with.

very similar looking to mine.

it had the same 1/2 inch Nordic ply, and 4 shelves, 3 legs, the two in front were machined aluminum, and the back leg was stainless steel.

it was so pretty to my German ikea loving eyes, so I had to ask the price....

900$, 600$ for the demo.

I laughed at the guy and said I could build a better one for under 200$, it may not be AS pretty, but it will surpass it by functionality.

two weeks later I took a week of vacation, and plunged head first into this project.

I would say that I achieved my goal.

Thanks all for the positive remarks :)

A contextual photo.

i split it into 3 pieces to fit.

Dammit, the more I look at all these pictures, the more I want to build one. Someone please hide the plywood before I pull out the saw :nono:
