My first dust cover attempt

I had a free sheet of acrylic (9/16"). I cut it to size with a table saw with an acrylic/plastic blade, sold at any HD or Lowes. I bought the acrylic weld on amazon for $14, it comes in a can with a couple of hypodermic needles. It's enough to build about 100 covers.

Like I said, this was a test just to see how it would go. I'm going to see how it looks rounded over tomorrow.

My ultimate goal is to build an entire turntable out of acrylic, this was just a starter piece to get my feet wet.. I have built a lot of things out of wood, including bamboo speakers made from bamboo flooring on clearance from Lowes.. See pic.

You're a pretty handy guy. I think that cover looks great. Not sure how you would run a router over it without scratching the daylights out of it.

Looks great! If you can bend over the too sheet to also make the front, then you can weld the two sides and the back. That would clean up the look. Looks like you're on your way to making some nice covers for sure!
 
I hear the second season could use a bit of help with the sets.

Tape, lots and lots of tape.


This pic is something like what I eventually would like to make once my skills get better in working with this material.

Looks like the plexi I see when I stop for gas in downtown St. Louis... keeps dust and other projectiles off of the clerk.

Table hell, I would be worrying more about my toes.
Nice job though, been toying with the idea myself and will probably jump into it next time the need arises.
