My modest system (UPDATE 3/24/15)

Some of you guys have some seriously sweet systems. I'm relatively new to vintage audio, but I'm really enjoying my new hobby. Thanks to all who have taken the time to offer help and advice.

My system consists of a Marantz 2275, 5220, and 6300. All were Ebay purchases, as I couldn't find that kind of stuff around here - until I became an AK subscriber. The entertainment system is a Thomasville unit that my mother gave me to haul off when she and my stepfather purchased a 65" television. I guess you could say it's been "repurposed" to meet my needs.

My speakers (not shown) aren't the best - Cerwin Vega DX-7s - but I really like to crank 'em up and disturb the neighbors.:D

NICE Mark!!!
That's some serious wood! :saywhat:
...I mean entertainment centre!
Lots of storage.

Very sweet Marantz gear.

Enjoy!!

Thanks, guys. I'm not sure which was harder: getting 600 lbs of wood up my front steps or hooking everything up. Trying to get behind those units in the shelves was hell.

Very fine, OP. I never would have thought to use an old CRT TV cabinet for a Turntable base and system above.
Love the Marantz. You have a fine start.
Enjoy.

I originally wanted to turn it into a wine cabinet, but I can't seem to keep any wine around here.:D

Just a small update:

Behind the two bottom doors is a drawer. I use it to store miscellaneous items such as headphones, cassette tapes (in a teak rack), extra headshells/cartridges, etc. Below the drawer was a shelf that prevented me from storing my albums.

I finally figured out how to remove the shelf and now I can store my albums where they need to be stored. I'm much happier now.

I really like how you repurposed that cabinet and the gear ain't bad, either!

Any speaker upgrades in mind?
