My modest system

Your Marantz pieces look fantastic in that cabinet! But what really jumps out at me is the fact that the components are at eye level. That's something I've always wanted to achieve, but never could with traditional audio racks. I hate having to get down on my hands and knees see and adjust settings.

I really like how you repurposed that cabinet and the gear ain't bad, either!

Any speaker upgrades in mind?

Not right now. I listen to a lot of 70s, 80s, 90s rock, so my speakers are up to the task. They shake the walls when I crank it up. If I listened to a lot of classical music, I'd be on the lookout for an upgrade.

It's funny you mentioned that. It's one of the main reasons I wanted the cabinet. I'm also considering a Pioneer RT-707 and a custom case (much like the Marantz cases). If I did that, I could expand my media selection and put the turntable on top of the Pioneer. That would actually be a benefit, as the turntable would be above waist level.

Great looking system and you made good use of that cabinet. You are right, working around a cabinet like that is a BITCH! Congrats!

Very nice gear and that cabinet is some very good looking wood! That Marantz gear just really pops out from there. I like it!

I've had some new developments with my entertainment center.

I managed to rescue the two side cabinets to complete the set. I also found my crystal set from my wedding - and added a few pieces to make it complete. Finally, I decided to go with a different setup - but changed my mind again. Soon, it will be all Marantz separates (2130, 3250B, 170DC, 5030B, 6300).

Here's the last photo I took of the setup, but I will update it as things change.
