My new Pioneer CT-F1000

Uh oh!

Touchy micro switch aside, I thought everything was pretty kosher. But I tried to make a recording last night. Only one channel is recording and there's a steady but slow "pop" that looks like it's in both channels. I can see the meters bumping.

So - on to another problem. I picked this up primarily for recording - not playing prerecorded tapes which it does fine.

Does this sound like a bad cap? Or did I screw up something else in re-belting process? :scratch2:
 
Hey Shacky . Did you ever finish the CT-F1000? I am restoring one myself and need the capstan wiring to the controller as it was removed prior to me overhauling it. Can u help?
