Planning on breaking down and adding streaming. I am looking for a 4K blu Ray player that I can run to my tv and sound bar for when I watch blu rays that also has analog that I can run to my receiver. But I want one that I can stream Spotify from my phone and have the tv to a different input then the blu Ray so I can play a video game on the tv while listening to the blu ray player on the stereo. Does a player like this exist? As you can tell I haven’t updated my stereo in years (and probably never will) but it would be nice to be able to stream music to it. Any advice would be appreciated.

You're probably not going to find a Blu-ray player that allows you to stream from your phone, although some players (such as Yamaha) can be controlled from a phone via their internet connection. Many better BR players have analog outputs (you'll have to check to see if they allow you to output to analog and digital simultaneously or if you have to go in and change a setting every time you want the sound to go to your TV), and pretty much all current players have an assortment of apps that allow you to stream from them directly. Just look for one that has Spotify built in.

Thanks for the ideas. Sony es1000x might meet my needs but not sure, I’ll research it or maybe someone in here may know. Also might just add a separate 4K blu ray and streaming devices and keep tv and stereo totally separate. Any good options for a phone to hifi connection device?

The best option was the Google Chromecast Audio. It's been discontinued but you might be able to find one used or NOS (new old stock). Otherwise you're stuck with either hardwiring or Bluetooth. Decent Bluetooth receivers are plentiful and inexpensive on Amazon.
 
I do, but you don't need to spend anywhere near that much unless you must have a name brand. I've gotten good receivers for under $20.

What do you use? I know the sound isn’t going to be as good as my CD player but don’t spending a few extra bucks for a quality product.
 
Thanks for the info. I’ll research a little more and if anyone has a particular brand they recommend please let me know.
 
I'd suggest staying away from bluetooth and search for a Chromecast AUDIO instead. It uses WiFi which can carry CD and higher quality audio if that's what you desire. There are other WiFi streaming options at a higher price point. Paradigm PW-Link and Bluesound Node come to mind. But, if playing Spotify only, bluetooth may sound fine for you as background music while gaming.

Edit: just noticed the pricing has tripled since I bought two of them a few months back. Yikes!
 
Cd quality would be ideal. Is the Chromecast audio controlled by phone? Finding them for about $70 on eBay which doesn’t seem to bad if it’s much higher quality then the Bluetooth option.

Yup, I use my Android to control my two CCAs streaming AMHD with minimum CD quality. Under certain circumstances you may get near CD quality with Bluetooth. WiFi is better in almost every way .
 
Just looked at the others you mentioned. That’s a big price jump. But at $75 the Chromecast doesn’t sound bad. See a few for cheap on eBay but worried about fakes. Any other ideas people have gone with for high quality streaming? And would input would you use with a Chromecast?
 
I doubt there is anyone making fakes, but I did see a super low priced one from Hong Kong that is obviously fraudulent, since it's a copy of an auction that closed a couple of days ago (or were you talking about the listing being fake?). There's one legit-looking one that's got a buy-it-now price of $43.49, which isn't bad.
