My understanding is that the CA-2000 is the Japanese "domestic" version of the CA-2010, so they are the same/identical amp.
Plz correct me if I'm wrong. I have the CA-2000 (refurb'd), yes, a nice amp. I like the CA-1000 and still need to refub my A-1...
Use quality parts from a reliable source and you will be fine. Unplug/Unsolder wires from power amp modules
and remove. Also unsolder 4(?) wires on the meter board to remove front end. It's a reasonably straight forward
refurb.

I have always liked the lighter color tone of the wooden cases on the Japanese versions better, compared to the north american versions where the wood tone is darker.

Awesome job. How did you clean these boards? I might add this to the scope of work on my upcoming CA-1000 restoration.Dirty job started with the first board of CA-2000 series........

I am using brush with Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to wash away the sticky flux residue.
That slide switch on the right needs to be disassembled and cleaned properly.

Thanks. So far the sound is clean and perfect. now I will let it power on and burn-in for 48H.
