Mystery 3 way time aligned spekers

barredowl

Before and after Science
Found these at Value World for 20, heavy cabinets, walnut veneer, very refined looking metal dome tweeter, heavy 50 lbs+, maybe 36 inches tall? No markings except Shepard on some castors that I am not sure are original.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Looks a whole lot like early Audio Concepts (ACI) to me. That woofer is a dead ringer for ACI stuff from the late '80s to early '90s. As is the "arch" shaped foam and the slanted-baffle cabinet...

Regards,
Gordon.

oh, too funny... when I saw the thread title, I had to look... because I know what they are. I once had one...

Rubber surround on this woofer, though. If I'd have found two of them, I'd have kept them. It was a good sounding loudspeaker.

Maybe a JSE Infinite Slope.
Check the tweeter and see if it's a Dynaudio. Have fun.

EDIT: Guess not:)

Oh link, doh, never mind. Are these decent quality? It does indeed look like a stamped steel woofer.

It says (in Gordon's best recollection): Audio Concepts kit speaker with AC-10 woofer, Vifa M10MD39 midrange, SEAS H425 dome tweeter. Did you listen to them yet?

Does anyone know the specs on the tweeter? Would I be crazy to consider pulling them and putting them on my JBL Lancers to replace the crappy l20 cone tweeters?

I am thinking I actually want to put it in the JBL and I am not to sure those stamped woofers are worth refoaming. I played the one with more intact surround * briefly* and the treble did sound excellent and the bass as you might imagine not so much. :)

That's what I just looked at. Sensitivity and Fs are in line. Impedance curve of the L20 probably doesn't look like that, but you could give it a go.
