Mystery 3 way time aligned spekers

Actually maybe now I'm confused about what LX10 is and don't know what I'm talking about :stupid:. What Lancers do you have? Maybe the L20 sounds extra crappy because it's crossed over barely above Fs... I mean, I know it's not much good anyway, but still.
 
my two cents is they look like decent speakers, i would order a refoam kit and re-foam the woofers as that's cheap enough and see how they sound, i bet they sound pretty good.
 
So I pur the tweeters in the Lancers and I like the sound better than the Paradigm SE3 MK IIs Ih I had hooked up downstairs.
 
I found a PDF of ACI's catalog with the G2 and was impressed with the build quality - nice xover and wiring. Mine came from a thrift store in Madison just a few hours from ACI's HQ. While I wasn't able to find a sweet spot for them in my bedroom system, I really like their design goals - minimized diffraction and time aligned.
 
I don't think that's a double-chamber tweeter. Ergo, it probably won't safely go low enough to replace the JBL LE20.

"Safely?" Perhaps there is a little mid range loss, but vocals sound fine, and I still like the sound beter than the Paradigms,that they are not as accurate as my Tannoys perhaps goes without saying. :) But nice basement speakers to go loud with, with a 250 watt per channel Soundcaftsmen amp. :)
 
Mr.Dzurko hangs out over the Meniscus site..meniscusaudio. He owned ACI . he may be able to give you all the info about these speakers
 
Carcasses are gone left on the curb and reused by locals, tweeters in Lancer S99s, problem solved.

"Safely" means that they could potentially be over-driven and damaged, by too low a crossover point. 2KHz is lower than I would ever run a SEAS tweeter without a back-chamber, with anything short of a 24dB/oct. crossover. With a "standard" 12dB/oct. crossover, 3KHz is about the safe lower limit...

The tweeter is the Seas H398 in the G2. Here's the link to an early ACI catalogue. It has the specs along with the G2s freq resp. chart.

The ad really takes me back. I had a Saturn sub built for me from the plans. I've also had a pair of the LV Sats. The Saturn is still pulling low-end duty in my Klipsch system. The LV Sat speakers were given to family a while ago.
