NAD 7220 vs 7240

I would like thoughts on a NAD 7220 vs 7240 compassion. I know it's totally subjective, but that's actually what I am looking for.

I previously owned a NAD 7220 and loved the way it sounded and performed. Mated well with KEFs of that era. Used it for years, until it found a new home with my oldest. Now I have an opportunity to get a 7240. I can confirm it works, but can't "audition" it. When I bought the 7220, I preferred to the 7240. I remember the 7240 sounding more powerful, but less refined. However, that was three decades ago, so I don't totally trust my recollections.

Any opinions or thought highly appreciated. THANKS!

Consider the older 7150. It is the best built of all the older NAD gray receivers including the Monitor Series. The 7150 features no less than three transformers so they put some effort into it.

Thanks, SoCal Sam. I will keep an eye out for the 7150. I had yet to find one listed locally, but several of the 72xx series have appeared on CL recently.
