I love the early pieces. I have a very smart and attractive all in one AV reciever/DVD player in the bedroom. It sounds pretty good, but no sonic magic like the early ones I have heard. It has been running for about 6 years without issue.
I have always heard that sonicly. NAD was hit or miss. I have a close friend who has been repairing audio professionally for about 30 years now. He is very opinionated about NAD because he has seen a lot of it in his shop. His main complaint speaks to build quality. In the later products, he says that the caps are very low quality and prone to failure. On the other hand, once recapped they are respectable sounding units.
