I am refurbishing my old Nakamichi 500. In the process of recapping boards I noticed that at some point the pause does not work. When in Play and I press Pause, the take up reel stops turning but the capstan and pinch roller continue to operate so i get a tape spill. There is a microswitch connected to the Pause key and it seems to work at grounding the signal.
Does someone know how the Pause works and what my problem may be?
