nakamichi banana plugs on ebay

I am sure that is the case, but for all connectors I've seen thus far that can accommodate banana plugs, they have worked. Even my Beveridge speakers, made around 1980, I had to upgrade the connectors to ones that could use banana plugs and the space between them was correct for the dual plugs. Not sure if that was just coincidence or is there an industry standard distance applied?
 
I use the Nakamici ones but had problems with the little screws stripping. So I soldered the wires on to it. Problem gone.

hmmm... most of my cables had those and it was really frustrating how after many uses, you have to cut the worn out and tired wire ends and peel more. also, turning the other way by accident made the wires come off easily. i guess everyone prefers something different.

anyways, the plugs came in today. i'll give 'em a try soon.

There are at least two "Nakamichi's" out there now. One is making very high end electrostatic speakers and other megabuck components (the true licensee) while a Chinese based company is selling $10 day glow headphones. Etsuro's dead, Nero has to be in his 70's. There is no one left to defend the name.

BTW, Nak made DATs, CD players, turntables, AV receivers, "lifestyle" products, clockradios, headphones, power amps, preamps, tuners, cartridges, cables, not to mention tons and tons of car audio. Nak went under because the market shifted dramatically in the 80's and early nineties. Everyone started making total crap rack systems, which sold like crazy, and Nero refused to compromise (as always) so they went under. I was an eye witness observer and unwilling participant. As Jeff Bezos said about Amazon, no company lasts forever. Nak started out in 1916, so they had a pretty good run.
 
i got them a few days ago but didn't have time to change out current spades on most of the cables i have. anyways, the plug fits fine for the speakers, but they're too big for some of my amps. also, they're much lighter and smaller than i thought, but then they're so cheap. the screws are very hard to align once they come off. the most concerning thing is that i'm not sure if they'll take the thickest gauge wire they claim to take - just from the looks of it, they won't. :scratch2: oh well, they'll probably work for setups where i don't swap out speakers constantly.
