Let's do a thread with ONLY National Park photography. No State Park or Recreational Area photos allowed. I am limited in my visits, but between everyone, we'll be able to have 'em all represented. And don't forget, there are different times, different light, and different locations within each Park!

Any subject qualifies; landscapes, weather, flora, fauna, macro, buildings- anything within the confines of one of your country's National Parks. It will be useful to also indicate location. Anecdotes welcomed!

Lots of very nice photos. Some of them kinda makes me want to canoe to the south east and hawaii...:D Maybe i can adapt to eating krill?! HEHE kidding. But nice photos all the way around.

By the way, 1998 was the year of record rainfall - everything possible bloomed in February and March. Unfortunately, I couldn't get there until April, but you can see things were still unusually green. One of the unpaved roads was washed out that year and had to be restored/graded.

I could send some pics of Great Smoky Mtns Nat'l Park-Its fairly close, but all you can see are trees, traffic jams, disgruntled tourists, & MAYBE the errant dusty-azz, fleabitten bear, moochin' for handouts. Big Woop. Right now, its a ZILLION degrees here, the middle of the Rattle-Headed Copper Moccasin, Chigger, & Hornet season, you couldn't PAY me to go toodlin' out into the deep woods...

Wrong. It'll be WORSE...Big push in August, "Last-Trip-Before-School-Starts" crowd, the tourist trap stores in Pigeon Forge have big sales, they even have Sales Tax Free Weekend...But honestly, I don't know IF they have a "Down" season anymore. LA & I were over there Thanksgiving weekend last year, other than it was cooler, you REALLY couldn't tell it from the middle of the summer-Wall-2-wall people, cars...Used to be, Gatlinburg & the Smokies kinda folded up after Labor Day. You see more Tennessee & North Carolina cars over there in the "Off" season, than Furriners, though.
