I found a set of 200C's locally for $90.00 and bought them to bring back to full glory. These were purchased in late 1980 and had been in the same location in a Chicago bungalow living room since new. One woofer had been replaced and the other hacked with some expanding foam sealant. Otherwise, they were like new, or as near new as 44 year old speakers could be. The cabs have the slightest imperfections if you search for them and even the backs look as if they are new. The grills are also perfect but I will put new "Advent colored" fabric on them to better match the room.
I installed new Human Pro 005 woofers into them, added glue to the gold ring tweeters, recapped them and added some nice gold-plated banana plugs. I bypassed the tweeter control as well. They are currently in our showroom playing 24hrs a day but will be going home to my new listening space. I knew I would enjoy them, but I must say that they exceeded my high expectations and will sound even better in my listening space. I love the tweeters of course and the bass, even high off the floor right now, is amazing. These are the third pair of EPI / Epicures that I have recapped near a 12UF value to closely match the roll-off of the woofers and have seemingly struck audio gold (to my ears anyway). I also used a dayton .001 bypass but have zero idea / evidence if that has done anything. They sound incredible though.
