Need 2mm hex tuner alignment tool

I need to adjust the RF cores in an Akai AA-930 and my alignment kit doesn't have the right size tool.
I need a 2mm hex. Does anyone know where I can get this? There do not seem to be many alignment kits out there these days.

I don't know where to source that but you could get a larger one and trim it down with a file or razor knife.

Maybe but that's quite difficult and extremely easy to crack the cores if I don't get it right and end up applying uneven pressure.

From what I see, Hozan kit from Japan is the best one that covers just about everything - it has 1.95 and 2.0 mm on the D-16-2B tool.

I bought one of these kits recently, from the supplier below. Much cheaper than amazon. Shipping to NY was $6.
I have no idea what the 5th tool, D-16-5 in the set does -anyone know? Sort of a round hollow tube with small grooves around inner and outer surfaces. Kinda looks like it may match pots with serrated shafts.

The description on that page confirms just what you surmised it to be for.
 
OK, thanks. I'm trying to recall any time I've needed to use a "knurled hole driver", and can't think of any. On some older tube gear with bias pots, usually they have a slot on top of the shaft, just like other small pots.
I see they also advise "*Unnecessary sizes can be cut, and then used."
This set is the best designed kit I've used, as it incorporates so many sizes into just a handful of tools.

Also recently received. Quality seems to be top rate and have started working them as I do alignments and figuring out where to use what. Still looking for that perfect tool to get those bottom cores. I'll probably order a few more kits as backups.

I used to have a nice tool for bottom cores but I eventually wore it out and the store doesn't seem to have the same kit anymore.
 
I was desperately searching for a replacement tool for my beloved TOKO 2mm HEX trimming tool which perished after years of faithful service. For some reason this particular tool (2mm HEX both ends and one end with an undercut section to adjust dual slug IF transformers) is nowhere to be found. So I came up with a trick: trim down an existing crap tool (Velleman) and use a split slug as a mold for the tool. Splitting a slug is really hard as ferrite is very hard but also very brittle. I managed to make a cut in it, both sides, and using a chisel split it. While both halves flew away I was (eventually) able to find them. Using a paint stripper and shrink tubing to protect the shaft I managed to melt it down into the HEX shape. While holding the halves with pliers. See pics for details-

Too bad I cannot make the undercut section.
 
Good idea.
Keep thinking of possible solutions for an under cut type for the dual coil types.
Make a mold and extrusion?
I was looking to see if they sell 2mm or 5/64" hex plastic rods as stock material, metal yes, plastic no.
Wondering if 3D printing is an viable option?
These are the only ones that I know of making shielded RF transformers and coils, wonder if they have tuning tools?

Thought about that but no. Good friend of mine is really into it and helped me out with custom switch knobs for Akai and Pioneer amps. He said there are two issues: accuracy and strength. Even the finest setting is too course and the printed shape is too fragile to allow any reasonable force to be exerted. He suggested powder-3D printing. No idea what that entails but specialized shops (China!) do that. It is rather expensive, maybe €20 for a single tweaker and then you also need the design. My friend might create that for €100 or so (dirt cheap). I doubt if there are many who are willing to shell out that amount of money for a TOKO replica. Still I may get crazy (Dutch: get "de kolder in de kop") and pursue this avenue. See where it leads.
 
yeah I thought so, 3D printing is not accurate enough and the material is not strong enough.
I'll ask jclpcb and lodestone pacific.
 
JLC3DP has minimal tolerance of 0.2 mm and that is too much for a 2.0 mm tool. Still it may work out.

@pac1085: would work just fine but I'm across the pond and that's a problem... Its cause is orange... Also has no undercut but that's less of a problem.
