hi...
I understand that the scroll chart for tube data
of the Eico 666 tube tester is not accurate?
Is there a chart available with accurate info for this tube tester?
thank you

Google "666 tube charts" and you'll find the most up-to-date ones at the Boat Anchor Manuals Archive. But you should also google "666 charts ron reeland." He apparently did a whole set of "correct" settings for common tubes. I'm not sure where it's archived but you might be able to track down his settings.

It is the Devil's tube tester! Sign of the cross x 3. I would bury that thing after drowning it in Holy Water.

I have some documents that might be of some help.

Cheat Sheet for Eico 666 including an overview of operation, why tests for some common tubes are not very well designed and/or have errors, a custom settings chart for a bunch of tubes, calibration info, and more. Excel 130 kb

Restoring and Calibrating the 666 - Mike Day at backwater.com 2008 30 kb

I would share either of these if you or anyone wants.

Somewhere I'm sure I have the actual settings chart because I've printed a copy to go with my tester since the roll chart operates very stiffly.

Funny you bring this up because I just bought some 12AX7's at a pawn shop (had a box of tubes I pawed thru) and the 666 showed all 3 were OK or marginal on one side but dead on the other. I wondered if the settings were correct. Time to look into this - I haven't read the above cheat sheet file for awhile!

PS apparently the 667 is quite similar except for one or two levers for tubes with more pins, and a transistor tester. So most info for the 666 also applies to the 667 and vice versa.
