Need help finding the right cartridge for my system

Thank you so much! This info is really helpful. I'm on the hunt of a stylus for my mystery cart see.

And MP styli seem to fit my estimation just by looking on the computer screen

The hole on my cartridge is about 1.7-1.8mm on each side. But i'm only using steel tape to measure and the ticks on the tape are printed a bit wide too.

I'm taking my chance on an MP10 stylus for about $10. The MP11 would seem a waste of $35 if it wouldn't fit

Be sure that the technology is correct. I *think* the Nagaoka MP cartridges are Moving Iron (should be checked), in which case I don't expect you would get any sound if your cartridge is Moving Magnet. The Shure styli have a similar diamond-shaped pipe and are MM.

I'm sorry, these measurements are extremely difficult and involve fractions of a mm - I don't have very accurate measuring instruments and the best I could come up with for the first measurement for the pipe is about 1.5mm. The hole will be mariginally bigger, of course.

I guess it would be worth a shot to buy an MP10 stylus to try. It would cost $10 but it beats buying the MP11 stylus which costs $40.

good call! I guess i'll have to look for an additional alternative. i'll look into other shure models. M44 ones are horizontally "piped" unlike the MP styli which lead me to them

by the way can I ask for the measurement on how long the gold pipe of the stylus is? to make sure

I think you're correct...technically, the Nagaoka MP line is Moving Permalloy, which is a nickel/iron alloy, but it could be validly argued that it falls under the MI category.
