Need help with cartridge selection, Technics sl1800mk2

It came with original box and owner's manual and the original warranty card that was never filled out. The turntable is in excellent shape. It came with a shure m97 cart not exactly sure which tho as when I tried to look it up I didn't find much. As this is my second turntable I have a nagoka mp110 that I got as a cart and head shell package for my AT lp120. Is the shure worth keeping and getting a new stylus? Or is the mp110 a better match for this tt. And if so should I keep it on its nagoka headshell or move it over to the technics headshell. Any feedback and advice is appreciated. I am also open to different cartridge recommendations as well but if what I have will work then the more the better. The reciever that I will be using the Mk2 with is a technics SA-828, I will be using the built in pre amp which has a MM and MC selection button.

The Shure is a good cart. A NOS or aftermarket hyper-elliptical stylus will bring it to a new level. I have an M95 with HE stylus for my first-gen SL-1800. It's better than the Ortofon 2M Blue, not quite as good as the 2M Bronze. Still, a very listenable sound...

Thank you for the advice, I'm assuming something like a Jico or comparable stylus would be good for aftermarket.
 
My HE is an LP Gear aftermarket, it looks like a rebranded Jico, I have zero complaints. I consider the $80 for the HE stylus to be money well spent.

Would the LP GEAR N97VL REPLACEMENT FOR SHURE N-97HE N97HE NEEDLE STYLUS work on my cartridge. The website seems to suggest it's the next upgrade for the replacement one they sell that matches what's currently on my m97 cart. But I'm a noob when it comes to styli compatibility.
 
I checked the website, and I agree the N97VL is the proper choice. Give it some time to break in, and you'll be surprised by how much more music you hear....
