Nelson Pass F5 build, Part Trois...

I'm sorry, but while I'm totally enamoured with the idea of building this amp (now #6732 on to-do list), I can't bring myself to read the 617 pages of the DIYAudio thread.

What are the specs of this amp?

"So, would one need to order TWO tech DIY kits for one amp? Seems like just enough parts for one amp board."

Yes, two kits. One for each driver board.

I can't speak for all Class A amps, but the DoZ (Rod Elliott's Death of Zen) that Echowars built for me is as nice as you describe - and easily the best amp I have had in my system.
Yep, the Class A thing is very good. I'm thinking now of building another Class A for the woofers of my bi amp setup. I was over at Rod Elliot's site looking at what he had for projects and the small lateral MOSFET amp looks like a good project.

So, would one need to order TWO tech DIY kits for one amp? Seems like just enough parts for one amp board. :scratch2:
Yes, the kits are sold for one amp board so you would need two.

Bring yourself to read the F5 article linked on Nelson Pass' site, here:

You can skip the really techy parts if they also bore you.
:thmbsp:

How are we doing on that faceplate?

Lance you spelled three wrong. :D

Would love to hear this on a little higher end speakers than the CS-88a's from last weekend. These class A amps seem to be the SS's of the set tube amps.

Three? I dunno'?

I'm waiting on the better speakers, too, Denny. If you could come up here and either fix all my road iron or..... lay the carpet, finish the windows, and kiss the Polish Princess, we'd be listening to the Altec's, right now.:D

Yeah, the CS88's suck. I want to start building new Altec cabs but I have to finish some other projects before that. I should have hooked up the Fostex's so you could hear the resolution of the F5.
