Nestorovic Type 5 need some work

Hi, I came across these, heavy, looked cool. Did some research on Nestorovic. Not experienced with working on speakers. I live in Los Angeles and wondering if it's worth having these restored. Cabinets have a few small knicks, need some patching also. I have the grill, fabric needs replacing. Any thoughts appreciated, thanks.

Wow! Nestorovic Type 5's...! I've actually never heard them, but for whatever reason, they're dream speakers for me. Congratulations.

And, get those speakers restored. Very much worth the effort, according to reviews.

The tweeters and mids look like they could be good.
Low serial number (could mean not many produced or early run" and ends with "R", normally I'd think that meant left/right matched pairs though they don't appear to be obvious left/rights as driver placement seems centered and not offset one way or the other.
Might be worth fixing up.

A couple refoam kits, some cloth and a bit of woodwork. I think they're well worth the effort if all the drivers still work......so make sure they actually work before jumping on them

I can't tell from the pictures, but Type 5's typically had dome midrange drivers. And those tweeters are correct. One other thing, when the woofers get refoamed, do not let anything happen to them. They are designed to be specifically used together. There are no substitutes.

Yes. Good answer. Paul worked at Speakerlab, does good work, and will most likely know these speakers.

Another vote for Paul at the Loudspeaker store.
He refoamed the mids and bass on my type threes and they sound fantastic. I believe he is the only one who has the correct surrounds for Nesterovic speakers.
And I concur with StimpyWan on the bass drivers.

Nemojte mijenjati okruženje na 2 woofera. Uskladite se s izvornim okvirima što je moguće bliže. Dizajnirani su da rade zajedno, s odgovarajućom krutošću/usklađenošću. Sve promjene negativno će promijeniti dizajn i promijeniti njihov odgovor.
