I've been thinking of getting an amp based on the TPA3255. Not such an entirely cheapo thing but possibly a further development of the established TPA3116. So far I've only found a power amp which leaves me needing a preamp.

I did like the idea of built in Bluetooth but then it seems to only have one other physical input.

Option is to use a switch box but I'd rather minimize the number of boxes.

Currently I have a Bluetooth gadget from Logitech, DAC output and Phono pre output.

TPA3255 power amp with two inputs would work with a DAC/Preamp combo unit but I'm still down an input.

Hell, in my main system I've used all four inputs given that I've even got a cassette player in there.

Picked one of these up from a fellow AK’er to try out. I was pleasantly surprised. When I get sometime I am going to put it on a bench at work and checkout the components and change whatever is out of spec and see how it does.

Consider bypassing the elyticaps with polypropylene film caps.

That seems to be the only way to go. Especially now that I checked the power amp option has one input. Of course it does. Power amps only have one !

I know I did have a switch box in my second system. Need to find it I guess.

Noticed I need a separate power supply of more than 36volts for the Integrated version whereas the power amp has an onboard toroidal.

Looks like the choice is between implementation. The more dedicated power amp build costs a lot more. It would be nice if that's due to quality.
