New Dust Cover for my AR XA

Pulled the trigger on the dust cover from jnbaudio.

Nice folks to work with. Responsive and quick. Got it within a week. Super well packed and included rubber bumper feet and care instructions.

Liking it a lot.

Record plays with cover on (be careful).

I love the way it fits, just a little breathing room.

It 3/4 “ taller than stock so to matches the @AvFan custom base nicely.

Cheers, Bob.

Looks great, Bob! My XB has very nice cover but the one you have is very tempting.

I have the same dustcover. If I were less spastic, I would try using it with a record playing on the turntable. I bought mine a couple of years ago. Nice to see it becoming popular.

I would not attempt to play a record with the dust cover in place. My hands are just too arthritic for that.

I get nervous and spastic with things like unhinged dust covers. You should have seen me when I got my new Ortofon Quintet Blue on my new RB 202 tonearm. An expensive(for me) cartridge with an irreplaceable needle, on a tonearm with such low bearing friction that it has no 'feel' ,trying to cue a record. I finally got used to it.

I put the cover on by the front corners first- get them stable and secure, then slowly bring the back down. Simple but an unhinged cover is really for when your not using the table. I don’t plan on cover the table when I’m using it ... that’s asking for trouble.

I haven’t actually used my dust cover at all in a couple of weeks. Everything seems to be staying pretty clean. Might just stow it. It’s cracked and the badge is missing anyway.

As I said earlier I'm not a huge fan of dust covers but have had some bad experiences with cleaning ladies, pets, and children. I feel a lot safer with the new dust cover in place when I'm not using the table. It doesn't hurt that it's quite nice looking with that AR logo and all.

Oh if I had a nice new one I’d be more than willing to use it.
