New Guy here...Sansui collector

Welcome to the finest forum for Sansui on Earth.
Search the forums for cleaning with deoxit, hit the selector switch first.
Hose it down with deoxit only after you've removed all the dust and dirt, or it will be a mud pit.
Report after you are done.
When you deoxit, cycle the soaked switch stop to stop at least 50 times, then another squirt to re-lube.

Yes, this is just to make sure the tuner in the 9090 isn't to blame.

Chances are, if the tuning meters are moving, it's probably alright, but it's still worth testing to make sure.

You definitely have a problem with the pre-amp section. The problem is most likely a dirty switch, you need to get some DeOxit D5, and spray all the switches. The selector switch and tape monitor switch are on the board in the back and just to the right of the power supply. spray each on of these with deoxit and work them 20 to 25 times to clean the switches. To get to the push button switches you will need to remove the tuner section. I is not hard to do, just remove all the screws (including the two small ones on the top of the face plate. You can then move the tuner assy out of the way. Each of the small push button switches has a small hole in the top, use the red extension tube that came with the deoxit and spray into the hole and work the switches. Do the same for the tone switches and the loudnes switch.

Many, many thanks to all for your help and suggestions. I will defently either hit Fry's this weekend or order some Deoxit. I will then follow the instructions on the link.

If that doesn't do the trick, I will let you know in another post.

Deoxit Didn't do it.....

Tried the Deoxit this weekend....Still same problem. No output. Soooo, I am thinking it may be the F2436-1 board. Not sure. Thanks to all for your suggestions! I do appreciate it. I may just buy new output transistors and also replace all the trasistors on the 2436.

You can always pull the transistors and test them before you start buying new ones. Any multimeter with a diode test can do it.

I THINK if the unit is not in protection the outputs should be alright.... someone correct me if I'm wrong.
