New or vintage crossover for A5 VOTT

@Nyjblbob got me fired up on the old console amps I collected over the years and I came across these tubes that I can't find the info on. The I.D. is 611411 8701 xx. I've searched around and came up empty.

10 watts would be about 115 to 117 db at 4ft or 105 db at my listening distance of 16 ft. Thats barely concert level at 30 ft from a full orchestra un amplified in a concert hall. I push peaks that high with my line arrays when I am serious all the time using c weighting in the fast peak mode. I reach those levels also with the HT system where special effects are used in the movie shown, It takes about 80 watts from each of the front three channels to reach those levels.

It's been a while since I've been jerking around with those consoles. I took the amps out of most of them and got rid of the cabinets. The Fisher is mostly intact and I just fired it up again with one channel quite weak. Mostly I would find Magnavox consoles at the sales, but not always. There are no other markings on the tubes. For some reason I think they are 6BQ5's like you stated. I'm going to look through the pile a little closer. What's the logo at the top? Could it be Voice Of Music? I have some of them also.

How can you tell they are new/unused by looking at them?

By no means can you tell visually if the tube is NOS. But on most heavily used tubes, specifically On the leading edge or the inner Shiney
part the "Getter" I'm sure there's another more technical name for it, is discolored or even partially missing.
This can be most acute/Visual on side getter RCA 6L6gc's as used in Mac 240's
or Fender twin Reverbs

This dbx DSP caught my eye. I'll need to buy a special mic for the DSP? I can use a sub with this as well, I reckon. The seller of the Furman hasn't responded and let my offer expire. There's not a ton of suitable units IMHO. There's a few.

Well I have one of those also, with the calibrated Mike. frankly it's a little above my Pay grade. Too complicated!
No doubt it's the next level above the Older style X-overs. that are easily set up and adjusted for hours of tweaking.
The newer all digital DSP ones are supposedly even better, but unless you are Computer Literate ???
all of them have their own sound. Choose your poison

Those are Russian 6P14P tubes. The P is shown as the Greek Pi symbol. Generally regarded as an EL84 substitute but there are different versions with slightly different ratings.

This is the old version, this one is not controlled by an iPad or Windows and many other functions less. Yes you need a mic.

These are NOT the up-rated Sovtek EL84M. Those Reflector made tubes are 6N14N-EV or -EB. The 1970-80 era -EV will usually have an "OTK" stamp on them. The -EV are rated like 7189. The non-EV are rated like EL84.

How about this Behringer CX3400. I know there quality hasn't been too good, but I have heard it has picked up to being decent.

I think I'm going to implement a tweeter in my VOTT.

EDIT2: Can I use a musician's microphone for the dbx DriveRack?

You need a calibrated mic, go with the mic for youre DSP.

Check REW, I use it with a Umik (calibrated Mic)
You can download it's free for youre Mac or PC
 
The problem I see with this untested X-over, is once you spec it out, custom made, there's no changing anything.
What are the chances that the points you choose, and slope, 1 out of thousands of variables will be perfect???
Adjustability is paramount!
