Anybody tried Shure 840 leather pads or Beyer DT770 velour pads on vintage AKG K240 cans?

Any other recommended replacements out there? Would prefer velour. They cause my ears to sweat less.

I've read in a few places on Head fi that Beyer velour pads are a common replacement for K240s.

thomann.de sells both velour and pleather pads for K240's.

If you want to order in the US, you'll have to order from the bay or the US AKG distributor, you can email AKG support to find out who that is.

I'm not sure I'd recommend velour pads though, they change the sound for the worse, at least with DF's.

Beyer pads should fit, so should some Shure and German Maestro pads, but they might need stretching, look at their measurements to be sure.

To be safe, go for the normal pleather pads from AKG.

Bah I keep remembering things.

While you are at it, you should get new screens for your K240's as well.

That would be 2x 2260Z0901 foam discs and 2x 2058Z1001 cushions.

Edit: Oh and why not new internal foam rings and elastics? 2x 2040M0303 rubber loop and 2x 2073Z1502 foam ring.
